Project Overview

For this fantastic project, we were asked to undertake all the groundworks and landscaping works associated with creating a kitchen garden for a country estate.   The ‘Kitchen Garden’ project was designed By AWB Landscape Architects, and was designed to fit snugly into the landscape and be both beautiful and practical.

The project took a number of months to complete and involved various aspects of groundworks and landscaping.  The site was originally an unused lawn area, so provided us with a blank canvas to construct the ‘walled kitchen garden’.

The works involved preparing the site, surveying and preparing levels, setting out, drainage works, service duct installation, foundations, stone & brick wall construction, block paving, paving, construction of steps, raised bed construction, fence installation, greenhouse base preparation, water feature installation, fruit cage base preparation etc.

There was a variety of materials used within the project to complete the ‘kitchen garden’ design brief, and also to fit in and compliment the surrounding landscape, the materials included corten steel water features, Stone coping stones for the raised brick planting beds, stone walling to surround the garden, block paving (Chelmer Valley) for the paths, siberian larch timber for the gates & fruit Cage etc.. The greenhouse was manufactured and supplied by Alitex Ltd (A company that specialise in bespoke victorian greenhouses & conservatories) and fit into the scheme perfectly, it looks fabulous.

The finished project looks great, and we have received a lot of compliments with regards it, we hope that our clients enjoy the tranquility of this amazing space as well as growing an abundance of fruit and vegetables for many years to come.
